I thrive in the spontaneous action and creativity that photography places in my life. Every moment is interesting and unique to remember. As the moment passes it can be remembered vividly in our heart and mind. After time memories fade. With a photograph you can be taken back to that very day of happiness. There is much to be written and said of the world, but even more should be photographed.
What is right in this moment... That's the question that I want to capture at everything I shoot so you can always remember.
I'm a lifestyle photographer specializing in wedding photography. I live in the Southeastern part of Michigan, and am located in Lake Orion, Michigan. I am available for local or destination events.
When I'm not taking photos, I'm spending time with my wife, working as a higher education professional, or drumming. Think of my blog as a way to get inside what my everyday living is like. Community and connection is something I highly value and would love to see new people leaving comments or dropping me an email. I look forward to sharing my work with you!

Taryn and Craig had different favorite seasons, so we ended up doing one during the summer and one in winter. We thankfully had a little snow during this session. If Mother Nature had her way, it may have melted all too quickly for us! We ventured around a few local places in Owosso, where Taryn and Craig are both from (my wife too!). One of my favorite memories is when Craig and I got on the topic of groups of people marching (read: walking) in step. We both said that when we see a group of people in ’step’ ahead of us, we’ll do a shuffle step to get on their pace! Yes, we are both drummers and have done our share of marching band. Don’t judge us! Megan and Taryn didn’t join in our amazing conversation about how exciting it was… oh well!
Here’s a few of my favorites from Taryn and Craig’s engagement session, part II. If you missed their first session, check that out too!
Taryn and Craig do the cutest nose rub/cuddle!

They did this on their own waiting as I was changing lens! Great pose guys!

I can’t wait for their wedding this summer, August can’t come quick enough!

Caitlin and Eric’s engagement session was officially the coldest session, ever! Scroll down to the 1st picture and you’ll see what I mean… It was so cold, that when you breathed the moisture would start to freeze in my beard, I’m serious! I really wish I had a picture of it to prove it did happen! Caitlin and Eric braved the cold much better than my wife (who claims to be a Yooper, but can’t hang when it gets a little chilly).
Here’s a few favorites from their session. If you missed their sneak peak, check that out too!
Eric’s SUV thermometer is really projecting the correct temperature, -11! Yes, -11! That is C.O.L.D. **SHIVER** By the end of our session the temperature had risen to a brisk -3!

You wouldn’t think it, but parking garage staircases can be a surprisingly warm stop from the -11 temperature!

I’m looking forward to their wedding in the UP, lots of family, fun, and most importantly, much warmer in the fall!

I tagged along Megan and Matt’s maternity session with my friend Miranda today. Enjoy the sneak peek!
John and Courtney had a gorgeous October wedding at the Pine Knob Mansion, located in Clarkston, Michigan. I’ve lived most of my life in Oakland County and under 10 minutes from the Pine Knob Mansion, but had never been… it is BEAUTIFUL! I cannot wait to photograph another wedding at the Pine Knob Mansion in the future!
John’s immediate reaction when I first saw him in the afternoon was priceless, he yelled out in excitement, “JEFF!” He came right over to meet my wife Megan, who was second shooting. The day may have been a little chilly but everyone pulled through and celebrated John and Courtney’s start as a married couple. Megan and I had a great time with the wedding party, friends, and family. John and Courtney, you guys are GREAT!

We were upstairs in a room overlooking the gazebo at the Pine Knob Mansion, windows everywhere! We had some nice light and a antique chair, made a great picture of Courtney relaxing before the big event.

Did I mention it was kind of cold and the heat didn’t want to kick on until much later… Anyways, I think Courtney looks great with the wedding dress accessory!

I love the expressions on Courtney and her father’s faces as they walk towards the gazebo! They both look so incredibly happy!

The Pine Knob Mansion Gardens were a beautiful setting…

The background from the gazebo was full of fall colors, I loved it!

The cake looked great and tasted even better, thanks Great Lakes Cakes!

A piano and violin combo just before dinner started was a nice touch as everyone warmed up from being outside.

John and Courtney look so happy as they share their first dance as a married couple!

Thanks for letting Megan and I document, hang out, and participate in your wedding! Best wishes to you both!

Happy New Year from myself and Megan! We wish you the best in the new year. If you’ve packed away your dreams, dare to unpack them as you start this new year and decade. It’s time to enlarge your vision!
Below is a sneak peek from our weekend trip to Pickford, Michigan to shoot an engagement session with Megan’s cousin, Eric and his fiance Caitlin.
At the end of the day we had Eric take a picture of us.
Merry Christmas from Megan and I! We wish you the best this Christmas season. Be safe, have fun with friends and family, and enjoy my new favorite video!
Agim and Heidi were a blast to photograph! Their wedding was full of family, friends, and lots of genuine fun! I had a blast just hanging out and documenting what went on! Thanks for letting me share in your day!
