Fenton Michigan Wedding First Look

Ashley and Eli decided to do a First Look Session. For those not familiar, that is when the bride and groom see one another before the ceremony. It’s a perfect way to spend a few minutes alone with one another before walking down the aisle. For may couples, this may be the most alone time they spend during their wedding day. The moment is just for the couple. No parents, no wedding attendants, nothing to worry about other than focusing on one another. I let couples enjoy the moment and talk, hug, and whatever else they want. This lets me step back and just shoot what happens. It also gives us a few moments afterwards to take a few relaxed shots before the wedding. Ashley and Eli’s First Look and ceremony were held on the beautiful Heavenly Scent Herb Farm grounds.

Fenton Michigan Wedding Photography

Ashley and Eli were married this July and will be a multi-part blog post. Part one will focus on getting ready and Ashley’s details and will be followed by first look, bride and groom portraits, and everything else from their day. Ashely got ready with her bridesmaids in a big room. Everyone was putting on make up, doing their hair, and of course joining in the big day celebration. One of my favorite images of the day are of Ashley’s Mother and Sister helping with the wedding dress. Enjoy these and look for a few more posts in the coming days!

Wedding Guest Sign-in Book

I offer wedding couples a guest sign-in book that is different than the standard “name, address, etc.” Guests are encouraged to answer a few questions that are throughout the book. Throughout the book the couple’s engagement pictures are used with ample space for guests to leave comments and well wishes. The book is a 12×12 hardcover and comes in a beautiful box for storage. Brooke and Matt had a beautiful May wedding. The day started with a quick stop at the guys condo as they ate breakfast then off to the salon for Brooke’s hair. After their ceremony we headed out to the coast of Lake Michigan for some relaxed group and bride and groom pictures. The final stop for pictures was a cherry tree farm that Brooke’s father owns. We had such a great day laughing and taking relaxed pictures. Enjoy the pictures and may your life be blessed with happiness, laughter, and lots of love!

Jennifer and Matt East Lansing Michigan Engagement Photography

Jennifer and Matt are a lot of fun. We spent the entire morning talking about life, college, their upcoming wedding, and everything in between. A fun fact about Jennifer is that she is halfway through vet school! We shot their engagement photography session on the campus of Michigan State University, in East Lansing, Michigan. I love MSU’s campus, there is always a new place to shoot and explore. I am very excited to shoot their wedding this summer, I really can’t wait. Relay For Life Survivors Photography

This is the first photo series of cancer survivor’s candid portraits at Relay For Life events in Mid-Michigan. Each survivor has a different cancer story which is unique to them. However, each survivor shares a similar story of hope, celebration, remembrance, and fighting back. The purpose of my sharing these images are to show how the local community celebrates, remembers, and fights back to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

To all the survivors at the Relay For Life of Clio Michigan, Happy Birthday!

Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.

Relay starts with a Survivors Lap – a inspirational time when survivors are invited to circle the track together and help everyone celebrate the victories we’ve achieved over cancer. The Survivors Lap is an emotional example of how Relay participants are ensuring that more lives are saved each year – like those of each individual on the track.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
